Prevent Improper uses!

Petroleum jelly weakens latex condoms, increasing the chance of rupture.

It is often recommended that petrolatum (or any other greasy substance) should not be applied immediately over burns, on the grounds that it would trap heat inside and make burns worse.

Petroleum jelly should not be applied to the inside of the nose due to the risk of lipoid pneumonia.
